Kinramer Cottage was a traditionally thatched, Rathlin home for 100 years until the 1960s. Then the front was knocked out and it was used as a hay barn and tractor shed, until it fell into dereliction in the 1990s. In 2001 the cottage and adjacent outbuildings were carefully rebuilt to create comfortable, shared, self-catering accommodation. In the summer months the cottage is occupied by volunteers for the Seabird Centre, but it is available during the rest of the year for indivduals, families and groups. We have hosted writers, artists, youth teams and scouting camps. Situated an hour's walk from the harbour, Kinramer organic farm offers a real 'escape' into nature, with nationally renowned nature reserves right on the doorstep. We've welcomed guests from far flung islands in remote corners of the world, and are pleased to provide a pocket of peace for city dwellers and urbanites.
